Rental Terms & Conditions

Hello and welcome to Travel Tots!
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all baby gear hire bookings made with Travel Tots (“we”, “us”, “our”) on traveltots.nz.
By placing an order with us, you agree to the Terms below.

1. Where We Operate
We proudly provide baby gear hire services across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. Delivery options, fees, and availability will be shown at checkout.
2. Making a Booking

Your booking is confirmed once full payment has been processed.

You are responsible for providing accurate hire dates, delivery address, and contact details.

Items are reserved exclusively for your chosen dates. If you need changes, please get in touch early — adjustments depend on availability.
3. What’s Included

All items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and safety-checked before each hire.

Standard cleaning is included in your hire fee — there is no normal cleaning charge.

Cleaning charges apply only in cases of excessive soiling (see Section 7).
4. Delivery & Collection

We deliver and collect items at the agreed times.

You must be present for delivery/collection or designate a safe drop-off spot (at your own risk) unless otherwise arranged.

If we cannot collect items at the arranged time, late fees may apply (see Section 8).
5. Safe Use of Equipment
Your child’s safety is incredibly important to us.
By hiring from Travel Tots, you agree to:

Read and follow all manufacturer instructions provided with the product.

Check each item upon delivery to ensure it is clean, complete, and safe.

Use all equipment only for its intended purpose.
-
Not modify, alter, or attach non-approved accessories.
If you notice any issue with an item, you must notify us within 6 hours of delivery.
6. Condition of Hire Items
All hire items are provided in clean, excellent, and safe condition.
We understand normal wear and tear happens, but you will be responsible for:

Breakage
-
Heavy staining
-
Missing pieces
-
Mould or food residue
-
Pet-related damage (fur, odour, chewing)

Marks from pens, paint, or dyes
-
Smoke exposure or strong odours
These situations may result in repair or replacement charges.
7. Damage, Loss, & Excessive Soiling
Please treat our gear with love — the same way you’d treat your own.
You may be charged for:

Damage beyond normal wear
-
Loss or theft of an item
-
Missing parts
-
Excessive soiling (vomit, food colouring, mould, ground-in dirt, heavy spills, etc.)
Charges may include:
-
The cost of repair, OR
-
The full replacement cost if the item cannot be safely rehired
An invoice will be sent if any charges apply.
8. Late Returns
If items are not ready for collection at the agreed time:

A full extra daily hire fee will be charged per day late.
If items have not been returned or made available for collection after 3 days, they may be considered lost and charged at full replacement value.
9. Cancellations & Changes
We know plans can change — here’s how our cancellation policy works:

7+ days before hire start date:
✔ Full refund -
4–6 days before start date:
✔ 50% refund
(or full credit toward a future booking) -
Within 2 days of start date:
✖ No refund
(Your items have already been prepared and reserved for your exclusive use.)
Changes to bookings depend on item availability.
10. Liability
Your children are precious, and their safety is always the top priority.
To the maximum extent permitted under New Zealand law:

Travel Tots is not liable for injury, accidents, or damages resulting from incorrect setup or misuse of equipment.

You acknowledge responsibility for ensuring items are used safely and according to all provided instructions.
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
11. Privacy
We collect and use your information solely to:

Process your booking

Deliver and collect equipment

Communicate with you
We do not sell or share your information.

12. Acceptance of Terms
By placing a booking and ticking “I agree to the Terms & Conditions” during checkout, you confirm that:

You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms

You accept responsibility for safe and proper use of all rented items

You agree to pay for any late fees, loss, or damage as outlined above
